Find the flower pot in the garden
Finish Preparing the Reception, including the chandelier, and talk to Kate. Go through the back door into the garden and look left at the flower pot. This is the ten-flower pyramid in Welcoming the Guests, rather than a later house-painting or alchemy puzzle.
Look at two different leaf positions: lower leaves are on the stem; upper leaves sit directly under the flower head. A red bud/center and white petals are separate features. A flower can have leaves without having a bud.

Arrange all four rows by their features
On a narrow screen, scroll the table sideways to read all columns.
| Row | Left-to-right contents |
|---|---|
| Top · one flower | White petals + red center + upper leaves + lower stem leaves. |
| Second · two flowers | Red bud with both leaf sets · white flower with both leaf sets. |
| Third · three flowers | Red bud with lower stem leaves · no bud, both leaf sets · white flower with upper leaves. |
| Bottom · four flowers | Plain red bud · no bud, lower stem leaves · upper leaves only · plain white flower. |
Separate the four basic pieces
Find the plain red bud, the budless stem with lower leaves, the upper-leaf piece and the plain white flower. Place them across the bottom in that order.
Build the three paired flowers
Above the first pair place red bud + lower leaves. Above the middle pair place the plant with both leaf sets and no bud. Above the last pair place white flower + upper leaves.
Complete the two upper rows
The next pair is red bud with both leaf sets, then white flower with both leaf sets. Put the fully developed white flower with red center and both leaf sets at the top.
Checkpoint: The bouquet can be picked up, and a Stone Tablet appears in the pot.
If the puzzle stays closed, compare every pair to the plant immediately above it. Check the position of the leaves, not just the petal color: the two leaf-only pieces and the two partly developed flowers are easy to swap. The planter diagram explains this combination rule.
Keep the bouquet, or unlock Ruining the Bouquet
For the ordinary task, keep the bouquet and give it to Alexandra after she arrives. The game does not require it to be chewed.
Offer flowers before collecting milk
With the bouquet in your inventory, give it to the goat before milking. Once milked, the goat leaves and this opportunity is gone.
Continue the garden work
Milk the goat into the jug and collect the mailbox key from the dirt its kick exposes. Finish the other garden puzzles and raise the flag.
Give Alexandra the altered bouquet
Help Alexandra out of the carriage and hand her the flowers.
Checkpoint: Her response that the bouquet smells of goat accompanies Ruining the Bouquet.
Only the bouquet branch changes. You still need the goat’s milk and all three tablets. A missed goat interaction can be revisited through the notebook after the game is completed.
Finish welcoming the guests
Open the mailbox with the small key and take its tablet. Clear all six cockroaches for the third tablet. Their arrow-marked stone makes an adjacent cockroach move one space away; a trapped insect means the board needs resetting.
Use the garden stone-box solution, take the flag and raise it. The Day 1 Afternoon progression continues with Alexandra’s 374 suitcase and the coachman’s fee.
