Where the main ending begins
The ending follows Serving Dinner, where the weapons and cut chandelier rope bring the gathering down into the underground area. The Departure then has a playable escape before the final transformation.
If you are still trying to reach that scene, follow the final escape steps: help the injured brothers, trade meat to Rustie for a hairpin, release the gate’s four lock screws, make the bridge and set the final statue clocks to 3:00, 8:00, 5:00. These clocks use new clues, not Day 2’s 5/8/10 values.

What the departure sequence shows
Show the complete main-ending sequence
- Alexandra and James: Alexandra drinks some elixir. Kate intervenes before she can give any to James, and the servant takes the baby before Alexandra becomes a corrupted soul.
- The servant: a cave-in follows. Kate gives the servant elixir to save him, and he transforms into a parrot. The original walkthrough identifies this reveal as Harvey.
- The departure: Kate tells the servant to follow the light. Outside, the coachman returns and asks for James. After handing over the baby, the servant enters the carriage, closes its curtains and the credits play.
This sequence is the ordinary story endpoint. It does not require collecting every optional achievement first.
What the transformation tells us—and what it does not
The strongest identity point is the servant’s transformation into the parrot identified as Harvey. Kate’s intervention, the baby being taken away from Alexandra and the final handover to the coachman are actions the departure sequence presents, rather than guesses about an unseen event.
One reading is that the job changes from serving the household to protecting James while the family’s experiment unravels. That is an interpretation of the shown sequence. It does not establish a player-selected moral branch, prove every character’s later fate or turn a symbolic parallel with another Rusty Lake title into a confirmed explanation.
The story and character reference supplies the weekend’s context and the developer’s placement before Roots. Specific puzzle values remain in the walkthrough, so they do not need to be retold as symbolism here.
Kate’s letter and the optional discovery
After the credits, Continue brings Kate’s letter and notebook replay. Her missing-brother clue sends you through earlier chapters with changed inputs. The trail ends with a telescope view and You’ve found him!; the original achievement guide also points to a short clip at the end of that route.
Use the secret-clip guide for the conditions and full letter chain. Although some sources call the discovery a “secret ending,” it happens through post-game replay. The main ending above has already occurred.
